With StateTrust electronic platforms you can be completely confident of the following security measures:

Secure Communications
  • Our system ensures that data-exchanged between your PC and our computers are encrypted with 128-bit encryption. Encryption is accomplished through Secure Sockets Layers (SSL), which utilizes mathematical formulas to ‘encrypt' or hide information from prying eyes on the Internet. Additionally, if SSL detects that data was added or deleted after you sent it to the bank, the connection will be severed in order to guard against any tampering. The most popular browsers have the SSL security feature included.
  • Our computer system does not connect directly to the Internet. It is isolated from the network via a ‘firewall.' A firewall is a combination of software and hardware products that designate parameters, and control and limit the access that outside computers have to the bank's internal networks and databases. You can feel secure knowing that our firewall protects your personal information from unauthorized access.

Secure Login

Security measures have been built into the design, implementation and day-to-day practices of the entire operating environment as a part of its continuing commitment to risk management. These measures are designed and intended to prevent corruption of data, block unknown or unauthorized access to our systems and information, as well as provide reasonable protection of private information we possess.

Login
  • User IDs and passwords are isolated from the Internet and are stored on StateTrust's database servers. This way, passwords and IDs can never be accessed or downloaded by anyone on the Internet. Additionally, user passwords need to have at least 8 characters (and should have a combination of letters, numbers and special characters), which means the chance of randomly guessing a password is less than one in one billion. The security features of our system also checks for invalid login attempts and automatically disallows a user after three invalid attempts. This prohibits the ‘hacker' from gaining access to our system, thus protecting your accounts and information.
Your Password
  • You will be responsible for maintaining one of the most important security measures: your password. When you change your initial StateTrust password, be sure to keep it a secret. Memorize it, or write it down and keep it in a safe place. It is not recommended you carry your password in your purse or wallet. Make sure no one watches you enter your password and always close your browser when leaving the computer. Make sure you scan your computer regularly for viruses that could be used to capture password keystrokes. You ultimately hold the key to your password security.
Client Protection Tips

While StateTrust continues to provide security controls to protect client information, we believe it is extremely important for our clients to pay special attention to security details.

The following are some ways clients can protect themselves and their financial information:

  • Never share your access codes with anyone. Remember, a StateTrust representative will never ask you for your PIN.
  • We recommend you change your access codes on a regular basis. If you think your access codes have been compromised, change them and contact us immediately.
  • Use only the secure message service provided within Online Services when sending or requesting account or information about you.
  • Consider using a personal firewall to prevent hackers from invading your personal computer, especially if you are using DSL or a cable modem to access the Internet.
  • Install virus protection software and scan all downloaded software, as well as External USB devices, before use. Also, delete emails with attachments from unknown sources.
  • When you are done with your transactions, always click on the Logoff button on the Web site to exit the application and prevent further access to your account. When using a public PC (such as in a library or school), also close the browser when you are finished.
  • Watch for the padlock symbol at the bottom bar of your computer screen to ensure that the site is running in a secure mode before entering any sensitive information.
